Our Faith:

We believe the Holy Bible is the true and inspired Word of God.  It is the only source of truth and power for spiritual life.
God tells us in his Word that there is only one true God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  This is the Trinity or Triune God.

God is holy, perfect in love and perfect in justice. He cannot ignore sin but must punish it with death and hell.  Because God is perfect in love he could not bear for people to perish forever so he sent his only Son Jesus to die on the cross to wipe away the sins of the world.  Whoever believes in Jesus the Savior will be saved.

We cannot get to heaven by our good behavior because God demands we be perfect in our thoughts, words, and actions.  Because of his great love, God gives us saving faith in Jesus as a gift through baptism and through his powerful Word.  Through this faith he gives us all the blessings Jesus won for us on the cross; forgiveness of all our sins, salvation, and everlasting life in heaven.

Our faith in Jesus is attacked everyday by temptations from the devil, the world around us, and from within ourselves.  God nourishes and sustains our saving faith through time in his Word, worship, and through his Holy Supper.

Our lives have meaning and purpose because God loves us.  Because he loves us, we love others and strive to carry out his will for our lives and share all over the world the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Our History:

The Immanuel congregation is the result of a merger of the German Lutheran Church(Peace) and the Swedish Lutheran Church(Salem), which occurred in 1930.  Since that time the Immanuel congregation has faithfully served the Lord and reached out to the city of Waupaca and surrounding areas.  Let us share God's Word with you and your family and friends.
